    Posted: 07 May 2017 at 10:39pm
My starter gave out on my D-15 Ser II .I got a hold of Steve at B&B and sent the starter to him to rebuild .Well grass still needs mowed so I taped up the loose wires and have been pull starting it do get the job done . I have a small creek on my land and have never been able to get across creek to bush hog on the other side . I dug out approaches on both sides and filled in some broken up concrete for traction . Been too wet for a couple weeks to even consider trying . Well today was dry enough and I had some time ,,, . Pull started D-15 and hooked up to my 160 rotary mower . Got across no problem . Mowed and knocked down a bunch of scrub , bushes , weeds and small trees . Went to back up and knock some stuff down and stalled it . Not in a good spot . My NF ser I needed a battery and some attention . Ran into town , new battery , ran home installed new battery , topped off all fluids ( she has been sitting a while ) , fresh gas and she fired right up . " Sling " the drawbar back on , grab a clevis and chain . My brother was on the 15 and I could only get behind the mower . Pull stated it in reverse . Only had a couple feet .my brother said I left the pto engaged when it died . As soon as he got it disengaged tractor started moving and popped to life . NF 17 was spinning tires , thought no way is this going to work when all of a sudden it fired to life . My green neighbor showed up to take a pic as I was pull starting it . At least orange saved the day . Green Neighbor wanted to know why I did not call him for help . My brother laughed and told him his green little glorified lawn mower couldn't get through the creek let alone do anything if he could

Glad you had some more orange to save the day. They always seem to stall or break in an inconvenient location. Your brother is right, that glorified lawn mower probably could not get across the creek.
Just an old country boy saved by the grace of God.

You ever try to tell your older brother anything ? LOL Jordan , I had this conversation with him right before the pic was taken . I couldn't give him too much grief as it started pretty quick without a lot of room to spare

I would post some pics of the creek crossin Ted but with me cutting out the banks I am sure I would get some grief for "Erosion" , no slit fencing , destroying the environment . I know how sensitive this here crowd is when mother earth is concerned . Now if I did post pics ,,, all complaints would have to be sent Uncle Ted's way
