Attachments for wd45 mounted corn picker

Had a neighbor stop by when i was putting away equipment. He was saying that his grand dad had a mounted allis picker(dosen't remember which model) and the tractor had attachments to center the seat and the steering wheel. He also said there was a different right brake pedal.
I looked at my operating manual ( got the original corn harvester) and i didn't see these parts.
Anybody ever hear about these? Did allis make them or are they aftermarket? One of my wd45 's has a flip over seat so the seat stays dry if it gets caught in the rain but he says that was not it.

I suppose it's possible, seems like a lot of work & fabrication to just move the steering wheel a few inches and what do you really gain.  if you're used to operating it from an offset position-what's the big deal about operating a picker? I doubt it was an Allis mod.  Someone may prove me wrong & I'll admit the error.

Possibly to get out of the dust more and improve visibility? I have that offset steering adapter on a WD45 NF with power steering. It also has the offset flip over seat. The seat is similar to D series or my 170. I do appreciate the improved visibility the higher seating position provides. Looking at photos of a WD45 with mounted picker the brake pedals are mighty close to the attachment. Heavy boots could be problematic?

They did make that offset steering wheel for a gear reduction or some sort of leverage advantage didn't they? Think I've seen one on a loader... Brake pedal I can't figure though, unless it was fender clearance for an aftermarket or retro-fit picker?

It fits fine but that right foot petal is pretty tight against the picker shielding. My foot is pretty tight in there. But with all the moving parts that maybe are not osha compliant, i would not wear anything but a solid toe boot without laces. And it is a little tough to what is going on with the left side of the picker. Besides, it wouldn't be allis chalmers if it didn't have a couple of little extra parts some engineers dreamed up. They were the kings of the extra part

This is one for the books & I wish there was a photo.  My dad & his brothers owned a picker in partnership in the 50's.  One of the brothers was an excellent carpenter.  Picking in those days was a long season.  Anyway, they built a wooden cab-kind of a square thing with barn windows on the sides.  I don't remember how the front (windshield area) was built & the back may have been canvas.  It did protect from the wind, and I think later there was a canvas Comfort cover which could be used with a picker mounted on a WD.  Necessity is the mother of invention.
