Hi, I was wondering what the normal operating temp was for a early model B (1939) i read that it shouldn't run lower then 190 but mine constantly runs 170, its a Steiner gauge so it might just be inaccurate but i was just wondering what your guys opinions are. Thank you.

170 is fine. It's probably a 160 degree thermostat in it. Problems tend to arise when it gets too hot - not below 190.

with a 160 thermostat and no shutters or anything else blocking air flow, That's probably as high as it will ever get. and in the days of just having water or alcohol for antifreeze that's high enough.
The B,C & CA tractors have a very good cooling system if nothing is blocked. I just put 180 thermostats in everything with permanent anti-freeze and all is good.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |
