Pleased to say I've gotten my first tractor, an Industrial 600! Serial 6AJ1669, which I think puts it at 1966? Good shape... got the starter rebuilt, and it goes every time. Just the loader, no backhoe. Not ready to paint anything, but if I did, does anyone know the official colour? I guess I'm just saying "hi"! Edited by dark_knight - 26 Nov 2025 at 3:04pm |

As with many industrial lines of equipment, the original purchaser may have special ordered a specific shade of yellow, to match with the fleet of equipment. Municipal Governments, and large private sector construction companies do this all the time. Look at Sunbelt Rentals, nearly all their equipment regardless of brand are painted a specific shade of green, it’s not Oliver green, it’s not John Deere green.

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Thanks everyone! I bought the parts manual and it had ENAMEL, yellow (12 oz. spray can) - 922982. I found that here, https://www.industrialtouchup.com/allis-chalmers.aspx, but at $29US per can, I think I'd better look elsewhere, even if not an exact match. |

Almost bought one just like it, looks like it has shuttle shift which make them good loader tractors. Maybe all the I600’s had a shuttle? Congratulations
