I just got a call from Carol Wacker, Lyle's wife. The Farm Commando decal is available for $10.00, including postage. Carol said that Lyle is doing "O.K.". They didn't get to any shows last year. She said, send a check for $10.00, or multiples of that for more than one. Address is:

54129-892 Road
Osmond, NE 68765.

Their ad is on page 53 of the Winter 2011 Old Allis News. The website does not work.

Before this thread ends, we need to get Bill Long to tell us where the decal was applied on each tractor.

I agree and am also confused. The ads both show unstyled WC's but it shows the decal in 2 different places. When I put mine on I want it to be in the same place as they were back in the 1930s and 1940s. So feel free to chime in here Bill and share a little of your knowledge with us.

My guess is that it was put wherever the mechanic thought it looked best.

Jeremy, I would bet they were placed like Lonn said. The first picture shows it on the hood basically centered on the exhaust. I wouldn't think that would be a good place for it if you want it to last very long. Heck buy 4 and put them on the back of each fender and either side of the frame rails. These probably weren't around in the 30's either, probably not used till after Pearl Harbor anyway. The would have been place on 1930's tractors if they were worked on during the war.

Dad's unstyled WC had these decals on the frame rails, just ahead of the front fuel tank support as I recall.  I really thought they were a darker blue than what I seen here. One on each side.  The decals are long gone and I wish I had taken a picture of them 30 years ago.
Bob, is the $10.00 per decal or per set of decals that contain two?  Thanks

I would imagine these would have also been placed on a 1942 B? all AC tractor during the WW2.

Are there any photos of an original decal on a tractor?

JC, I believe the price is $10.00 per decal. I bought mine a few years ago and paid $10 for one (not a bad price, considering). I'm gonna order two more today and use one per tractor as they come out of the
Allsdowneast Restoration Shop (that's gonna be a few years at the rate I'm going). I strongly suspect that they were randomly placed on the tractors, according to the whim of the installer. Bill Long would be the authority on this and if he doesn't weigh in, I'll send him a message. Bob@allisdowneast

Did anyone hear from Bill about where to put these on the tractors? I need it on B's and C's... For now... LOL!

Did Bill Long ever reply with where the decal was supposed to go? I have one I bought and posted a thread just a few minutes ago on this subject, then I found this earlier thread. I would like to put it on for this summer's shows, I just need to know where it goes. Thanks. Michael

What tractor do you have? When I spoke with him about it in 2015, the consensus was, there is no “official” spot, just wherever it fits. On a WC, the engine side rails or on the inside of the fenders were choice places. On a B, he mentioned putting them on the back side of the seat back rest. On my B I put it on the inside of the left fender.
For the record, they also put them on combines. Anything that was reconditioned during the war is how I understood it.
