How is this thing designed to work? Was playing with it on the bench to see what kind of squirt it produced. It appears to release a squirt when power is removed. That is to say that it doesn't spray contineuos when energized I think. The rubber gasket isn't sealing top of can and the bail is tight. Anyone know?

Designed that way so someone couldn't just hold the button down causing a whole can to unload.

solenoid goes down into can spray stem, but is basically blocking flow until it retracts when you let off button. We used to drill out the orifice some to help with really cold temps.

Best practice is to disconnect the wire and leave that way.

Agree, for the most part. Ether is like booze, can cause lots of problems if not used in moderation. Lol. And there are a few who think that if a little bit is good, a lot is better. My son learned the hard expensive way about the side effects of using too much of it. Darrel |

Removed it from M&W tractor. Not needed. Thought would have available on the "new" stocker just incase. Emergency use only. Almost never start my tractors in cold weather. Usually near a drop cord in a shed.
The leaky can is JD. Cant get the bail to loosen on the AGCO can from M&W tractor.

Most times the can leaks at gasket is because nozzle in manifold is plugged. MACK

Got threads cleaned up on bail adjuster and cleaned up top gasket. Got it together and snugged up. Works as designed. Had tube and nozzle on bench as well. One shot looks like plenty to me. Moved nozzle to intake tube after a/cleaner. Tube is zip tied to air cleaner to prevent vibration fracture. This will need monitored because its now on the suction side VS pressure side. Two prong plug is only on one prong. It can't be used accidentally.

Many of them are wired such that the ONLY way they work is when the starter button is pushed and being held, that the ether button will only work then.
