On/in the 7040 parts book, what is the difference between these two items/entries? Dual Pump vs Dual Pump Service. Thank you

To my mind, #246 would be a service replacement unit whereas #244 would be the factory fitted unit. Purely guessing mind & I'm sure folks who actually know will be ready to correct me, but makes sense in my small mind. (For example possibly a different drive coupler or slotted bolt holes allowing for installation without disturbing other parts).

Early trans pumps were 13 GPM and later were 17 GPM. Also other improvements all thru the gear pump.

We are looking at rebuilding that pump in our 7040. serial is 70401775. If I try to find all the parts to recreate the seal kit for the pump under the dual pump part listing, I’m unable to find 7 pieces. If I look to find the parts under the dual pump service part listing, all seem to be available. Ultimately looking to see if it’s possible to rebuild our pump using the service pump kit/part listing.

7040-5350 is where the newer pump was first used. Always remember unless you bought your tractor new, maybe it already has a newer pump installed sometime in the last 40+ years.
