Do I have this right? All I have to do is replace the lift bar with lift shaft and re-engineer the tower for a top link. Does anybody know if the lift bar (SC) is the same material as the lift shaft (3 pt)? Can I convert the lift bar to a lift shaft with a little welding?

Bill, this wouldn't happen to be trying to convert a snap coupler plow over to three point would it? If so it looked like the lift rod on my model 63 snap coupler is the same diameter as the model 82 three point of my dad's. Mind you, that was just eye balling it one day out of curiosity.

I am sorry! I am converting a AC series 70-80 SC plow to work on a tractor with 3 Pt. Hitch.

It sounds like your plan will work. The beam on our 3pt is a solid angle piece and I almost want to say I had seen a plow for sale on Craigslist last year where they had did the same thing. Found this just doing a quick Google search http://www.allischalmers.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=52443&title=plow-purchase-identification
