I am working on my 80T mower and need a little info/help on a couple of items. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated.
First, the "lift cable" for this mower is no longer available from AGCO and I need to have one made. To do this, I need the size of the cable used, its overall length and any other information that will help in making a new cable for it. Or, if anyone has one available, I would be interested. Second, the mower did not come with a "hydraulic cylinder", so I need to know what size (bore, stroke, length) that I should get to put on the mower. Thanks in advance for any information given!

Where are you located? I have a NOS lift cable, although I do not know for sure which mower it is for. I also have a few good AC hydraulic cylinders you could choose from. I'm in Maryland very near Gettysburg Pa.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Mikez: According to the AGCO parts book, the lift cable is part #70804360.

PaulB: I am in Columbus, OH (Central Ohio). I think, although I am far from being any type of expert, a lift cable was only used on the 80T mower. The next model, 82T, was a directly connected hydraulic cylinder connected to the sickle bar to the best of my knowledge. The preceding mower, a #7 trailer mower - of which I had one quite a few years back, did not use a any cable for its lift system as I remember. The lift cable part number I am looking for, according to the AGCO parts book, is #70804360. Does this number match up to your NOS cable?
Based on what I have found out, I think I have the hydraulic cylinder covered. Thanks, Farmer Tom Edited by Farmer Tom - 29 Mar 2017 at 12:19am |

The 80R (rear mounted) used a cable and I believe the 80S (front side mount) also used a cable. The old part number you would be looking for is 804360 - later replacement numbers added the 70 ahead of the original numbers. That part number just says "80" in my book, so it might be the same cable for all the 80 mowers.

Don't have it in parts bin. Would have to try to get in barn to see if there's a cable on that mower in there.
