In my IT manual is says to coat sleeve orings with light motor oil and install quickly. I see there is a lot of controversy using petroleum products, just wondering if oil is OK or what you folks are using.

I use vegetable oil, if you use motor oil you have to very quick before they start expanding.

The only time I ever installed orings, I used John Deere oring lubricant. That's some very slippery stuff

Dish soap works good too but you gotta flush the block or you'll think something's wrong when your engine starts foaming at the mouth
