The O ring on the PTO shift lever on my D 15 series 2 needs to be replaced. Wondering if the tractor has to be split or can it be done through the torque housing cover.

I have been told by a retired AC mechanic that the arm/shaft can be pried to the left and roll an O-ring into place. I can't do that on. mine, no clearance between arm and housing! vGood luck!

Tractor must be split to replace that o-ring.

It can be done without splitting tractor. It isn't  the easiest job, but with ingenuity and patience it can be done. HTH Tracy
