I am trying to diagnose charging issue oliver super 77  Polarize generator charges fine shut tractor off Start again will not charge Polarize again same thing shut off restart no charge Is there something wrong with generator I tried a new regulator. Any help or comments greatly appreciated

What does the generator put out when you short the field terminal to ground?

fixed one on a 77' the other day' the points wear sticking on the regulator' i also clean the wires ends. had luck' it works
