tricky but yes.Usually a small self tapping screw (or three) gives ability to pull with prybar.Crank in way makes it harder to clean bore and drive new seal but can all be done with some ingenuity and patience.

A little heat around outer dia. Of seal will make it pull easier. The seal has locate on it and 300 degrees will loosen the locate.      MACK

If there's loctite on the outer edge of the seal then that isn't the factory seal in there. The factory seal had a "rubberized" red coating on its outer OD to seal against oil leaking past the seal OD and the front cover.

The rubberized coating is a form of loctite .     MACK

I think you have to pull timing cover on 301 engine, seal is pressed in from backside of cover. There is a lip on cover that protects seal.

Sorry Sam,but there is no need to pull the cover. Seal is pressed in from the front.
