AC's in movies is something I look for and I missed one. Willie Nelson's 1980 movie, Honeysuckle Rose. With about thirty minutes left Slim Pickens is turning wrenches on a 5040 AC while wearing an orange with white mess AC hat.

The Movie "Country" staring Sam Shepherd also has some AC stuff in it. For sure there is the Gleaner "K" or "F" combine at the beginning of the movie. At the auction scene there is what appears to be an AC 190? in the line up.

Race Against the Harvest or "American Harvest" with Wayne Roger's has the brand New Gleaner R6's and R7 combines in it, although we don't actually get to see them harvesting in the field, but a few good shots of the combines anyhow.

If you get a chance to watch "The mating game" with Debbie Reynolds there is a D17 or D14 parked in front of the house all thru the movie. Never moves and doesn't seem to serve a purpose but it is there. LOL. That is a 1959 movie that has been playing a bit on TCM.

I enjoyed that movie, except for the fact the Gleaner guys are the "bad guys" and the Deere guys are "good".
Although, I'm left confused at the end, because the guy with the Deere's says he has a lot of clients, but his machines are destroyed, and the Gleaner guy says he has a lot of machines, but no clients. They then band together to get all the wheat cut, but the end scene shows all the JD machines cutting. That part didn't make sense to me.

I think what the producers did was to use Stock footage from an earlier scene in the movie for the ending credits, rather then film another scene with the Gleaner's. I wish they would have. It's pretty obvious that Deere probably demanded that there brand was represented the most in the movie. At the end of the credits, it said something about Special thanks or filmed on permission by Deere & Company. It was also another marketing trick for Deere to promote the brand. Maybe Deere helped the producers locate farms for the shoot, or marketing $$$ were involved.

In any case it would have been great to see the new Gleaner R6's and R7's at work.
