Looking at a 7060 black belly tractor with power shift the tractor has around 4,000 hours on it and it will hit all forward gears but won't go backwards will go in reverse and nothing will happen. Fellow said that ever since he had the tractor it had a weak reverse and one day he had a man running it cutting corn stalks and a pile got up and the man tried to back it up and got it stuck on the stalks spinning until it wouldn't spin no more. Any pointers in what the problem may be before I get it and tear it to pieces. Thanks

Unhook shifter at valve, then manually move linkage to reverse. Start tractor and  see if it will back up. If not, it is a complete rebuild.   MACK
