Grandson that lives with me is an avid deer hunter. He took some of my spare steel posts and one of my older cattle panels and made a deer blind. He spent quite a bit of time welding and bending stuff. He told me welding on steel posts is tough. They are made out of crappy steel. Any way he drags this contraption out into my hayfield and sat in it all morning, never seen a deer. About 2:00 this afternoon he was walking back out there, he was hidden from the hay field by a big old cottonwood tree. Anyway he stopped behind the tree to take stock of anything happening in the field. This big old doe climbed up outta the ditch and he took her with 1 arrow. She wasn't more than 35-40' away from him. I hope he hooks on to his deer blind and drags it outta the field before next spring.

| Congratulations to your grandson. Your county has a lot of doe tags available. Will be heading to that area myself in a couple weeks with 3 tags to fill. Good luck the rest of the season Edited by plummerscarin - 02 Oct 2022 at 7:40am | |
