I don't subscribe to Heritage Iron magazine as I'm in the UK, but I noticed that there's a feature on the demise of A-C's agricultural side in the current issue:

Quote Remembering Allis - It's been a while... Forty years to be exact, since a new Allis-Chalmers tractor rolled off the line in West Allis, WI. The downfall of Allis-Chalmers is not a simple story by any means... a mix of poor timing, a failing economic climate, and decisions made behind the scenes at the corporate level that just didn’t pan out.

I wondered whether anyone subscribed to the magazine, and if you thought the article was worth reading, ie. how many pages are there and how much detail does it cover?  Thanks.

Just read the article. Doesn’t go into a lot of detail but hit on the problems of the economy, management and labor. Three pages. Lots of pictures. The author was probably limited on the length or it was edited. Heritage Iron has been a good supporter of the Orange.
