Good morning,
I have acquired a nice Mott flail mower that is currently set up for a Farmall Cub and would like to put it on one of my G's. Is this possible? I haven't been able to find any literature or pics that shows the changes that would need to be made. If anyone has any info that can help it would be deeply appreciated.

I've never done that specific conversion, but I've done others. ANYTHING can be done... best done by someone with cutting torch, welder, a nice selection of metal... having some basic machine tools (a lathe, and a milling machine) really help, too. Best if that person is fairly close to you, so you can transport the whole works to him.
Look for that guy, and be prepared to negotiate. |

We have the guy and the materials. We just need the specifics of hookup points and settings, etc. For example, the mower has one pulley for the belt but the only pic I can find of the G setup shows 2 pulleys and the pic isn't from the correct angle to determine the proper location.

I'm currently working on a 1960s Mott flail mower. It came with a snap coupler hitch. We used it on our WD. Mott is owned by the Alamo group and some parts are available - such as knives. They were unable to help with manuals or other parts such as idler pulleys and belts. The mower is a pretty adaptable design. I think if you can get your belts down to the drive pulley, you should be able to fabricate mounting brackets and make it work. Good luck! Mitch & Barb in West Michigan

Website is www.alamo-industrial.com for the buyer of Mott. Our Agco parts guy referred us to them when I started working on my Mott flail mower and need parts. They're very helpful. Mitch & Barb in West MI |

We dug through more paperwork & found that we got the knives from a company called Fiailmaster and I think their website is just as it's spelled plus .com or you can call 800-251-4020. Mitch & Barb in West MI |

The Mott Flail mower on my Old Cub had a driveshaft off rear PTO, didn't know you could run a flail off belts

I mowed the lawn with a G/Mott mower when I was a kid. Still have both, but not mounted at this time. May still have the Manual that came with it. Dad bought the kit new and mounted it on the G. Send a Private Message with your contact info and I'll see what I can find. Jim
