I dont know if the tube failed and they put the flanges on the bolt it back together, or if the plan was to shorten the tube like an IB... Distance where the "battery" would set seems a little short compared to factory.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

| Did the B's ever have an auxiliary Sherman step-up or step-down transmission. Could the torque tube extension be for the ones that didn't have the Sherman transmission? Edited by WF owner - 23 Jun 2025 at 5:53am | |

I know nothing about the IB tractors but it seems like I read somewhere that they have a shortened torque tube. Is this anything at all like that?

Appears to be pretty early model, possible experiment and found complication not worth cost? Would be curious what serial number is.

Looks repair to me. You can see the bolts underneath in the front half of that splice.

I would say that if that was a repair, whoever did it did a great job. The toolbox has a mod done to it as well so the flange clears. Great to hear from ya Butch! Glad to see yer' still lurkin' around!  LOL!
