I've looked at my book several times now. Here's the million dollar question counterclockwise from the front of the loader or the seat of the loader?

I adjusted the clutch on my Son-in-law's HD5G last summer, it has the same clutch as yours. It only required two notches to get it tight again, but since yours was run without having the adjustment locked in place, all bets are off ![]() Clockwise while sitting in the operator's seat tightens the clutch.

I've been driving the inner ring clockwise for a while now its slow going for me since it's hard to get in there. That would make the outter notched ring go on the counterclockwise direction to loosen is this correct?

This is a AUBURN cluch on photo and you should have a ROCKFORD cluch and it could be the tread on adjusting ring or the backplate treade are bad or it could be the 3 cam bearing are bad worn

The only unit I have experience with is the Auburn clutch so I'm not much help. The Auburn clutch has ramps that make it easy to decipher, but the Rockford clutch isn't readily discernible from the drawing.

If you can not adjusted your cluch it could be the cams bearings ,links and pines, traide on adjusting ring, brooking springs you better pull out the cluch assambly and you will see the probleme.

You only need the clutch brake to stop the driveshaft from turning when the clutch is disengaged in neutral to stop gear grinding. Mine was shot and used it just fine. As far as the rod goes, it come out of the transmission and goes to the right side of the clutch fork shaft. Main clutch rod goes in the left. There is a block in the end of the shaft that the rod goes in. When clutch is engaged the rod comes back and locks the transmission in whatever gear you put it in to eliminate coming out of gear. Plunger bellows go bad and leak sometimes. If rod is disconnected it could make it so it will not shift, will not stop the clutch from disengaging.

It ran fine with the rod off before it doesn't look like its been attached in years. I can't pull the clutch lever back that's my problem. Since I've been down with my neck I've had to have my buddy fo the work on it. He drove tje center clockwise to the point it won't turn anymore. I told him yesterday that maybe we should go counterclockwise and see what that does.
