I purchased what I thought was a WD45 wide front on EBAY. That's how it was advertised. Paid $462 for it. Long story...short, it doesn't fit. The steering box that fits between the frame is approximately 15" wide....needs to be closer to 18". The guy I bought it from, has basically told me to go pound sand. At the very least, I'd like to try and sell it, but want to give it an accurate description...so someone can actually use it. If not mistaken, the WD & WD 45 both have the same frame system. CA and B have a different set up. Not sure about a C. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Picture looks like a 45 WF to me. I took out a 3 bolt and switched to a 4 so I know that can be done. Dont know what to tell you. And that seller is a moron. Just keep leaning on him and hell cave. I ordered some parts from him before and he screwed up the shipping. Long story short I got a refund, but it took some battling.

That picture is poor, can't see enough details to comment. Take picture [ your own] and post so we can see what's going on. I assume you've tried/trying to install now, show us pictures of your frame rails, etc. Which model tractor are trying to install this WF into?

Update: I was too quick to say "seller told me to go pound sand", that was an assumption based on his lack of reply to my email to him. I should not have included his ebay seller name on the picture. I have since found his cell phone number and gave him a call. He response was very favorable and he is willing to get me the 'correct' front end. So....stay tuned. |

by the looks of what is pictured that front end is a wd45 4 bolt wide front and will fit any WC, WD, WD45, and RC. I have not measured how wide they are. B, C, and CA all have different front ends.

I realize you may have gotten hold of Marty, but you will most likely (as others have said) keep battling him to get the correct front end. He is a CROOK. I have been tru it with him before. Don't take his word for anything. He burnt me once, but never again.

I just measured my WD45 Diesel narrow front. The casting is 18 5/8 inches where the frame rails attach.

If that pic matches the front end you have it is the correct one, are you changing from a trike front? or why does it not fit? or what are you putting it on?

Also you do know that steering box fits into the frame rails? the lip of the channel would be your 3 inches that you are off

Did you measure length instead off width.

Bilbo,
I would say you are somehow measuring incorrectly.
The relationship between the width of the axle mounting plate to the width of the bolster itself appears to be just like the WFE on my WD-45s and any other I've ever seen.
I think a difference of 3" would be obvious to the eye, even in the picture you submitted.

I was looking at a seat assembly for a farmall 560 that he had. I could see in the pictures there was a piece of the seat suspension that looked broken. I asked several times if it was and he said it was perfect. I didn't buy it but felt sorry for who ever did. Look at his comments I don't think i would buy any thing from him!!!

Update: I'm somewhat to blame (I guess). I don't actually own the tractor that this is going onto. I purchased it for a friend in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. I was not able to get to the buyer's place until almost 10:00 pm. I had spoke to him numerous times and he actually had the front end hanging from hi-lo forks when I got there. He was not there when I got there to pick it up. I was not really familiar with the front end....I just lowered it onto my trailor and off I went. Drove it up to the U.P. and dropped it off at my friends house. Long story short...the wrong front end was hanging from the forks. It supposedly fits a CA. Not even close to a WD or WD45. The seller is admitting his mistake and is meeting me with the correct front end half way between his house and mine. I don't have it in my possession yet...but I think it will turn out OK, in the end. Thanks for all the feedback.
