Back to the actual restaurant talk, we have a Culvers in town and it is nothing to brag about, the Cuvers my dad goes to occasionally is very good, He said the owner comes out and sits and talks with them  sometimes, different management. When the Applebees closed in town it had gotten bad there too, poor food and service, back to management. If we knew what a went on with our food in some places we may be afraid to eat anywhere what doesn't kill us makes us stronger maybe. I do like Culvers Ice cream though hopefully they don't screw that up.

guys; most chain joints are franchises, local owner(can have stores in several states, corperate oversight is spotty, and good help is hard to find. Nephew was a manager for a big franchiser for a burger joint. sent to "problem" stores, change locks on freezers, fire 2 or 3, make 1 or 2 actually scrub johns and change grease in fryers. Drop in off-shift and pull a burger off the line and check it. Clean, clean, clean, hire non dopers.    P.S. he won't eat there either anymore.

I think it is more of the franchisee and the management staff that make it good or bad.  Still, prefer a mom & pop or at least a locally owned franchised restaurant.
