Hi All, Hey my 190xt hydraulic PTO won't engage. Pressures are at 290 engaged. The PTO shaft spins free like it is not hooked to anything. Normal? Could the seals be bad on the clutch drive shaft? Or the shaft coupler be stripped? Thanks for your help.

Behind the battery box, near the front of the battery box, there is a small lever. While someone turns the PTO shaft at the rear, you rotate that lever counter-clockwise until it can't rotate any farther. I'll bet it's just disengaged.

Thanks for chiming in Dr. Umm... I cannot find that little lever. I also forgot to mention that it is a 200 rearend from the torque tube back 200-7314 D is the number on it. After further consultation with the I&T shop manual is it possible that the shaft coupling is sitting at the bottom of the Power Director box? Would it be a big job to drop the PTO box and look? Thanks Fred

Well then, if yours doesn't have the lever, it has the sliding coupler inside with a snap ring inside of it. Take the Power Director valve and cover plate off and pop it back into engagement with a long prybar.

Finally tore into it and you were right Dr. the coupler was not engaged. Works good now. Was a bit hesitant at first but seeing how easy it was, I just might work on that second gear jumping out issue in a few years...
