Finally after so much time has slid by I am finally making headway on trading trannies in the 7G. These are photos of the A-frame I am assembling to do so:   The beam is a W8x18 12' long, the pockets I welded on still have to be cross drilled to 5/8" for a pin to retain the legs. The legs are set up to be removed for transport, something I could not find in a decent priced gantry that would do for the project. Total height will be around 10'2" under the beam, the bases of the legs will sit inside a 6" wide channel on each side of the tractor and without casters for now, too much rock and soft spots in the floor.

Made my final pass welds on the headpiece today, got the legs attached and the monster uprighted  Now to the real job at hand.

That's a nice job on the A frame it will come in handy for other jobs as well, if you can get the machine up on some thick boards will make it a lot easier to crawl under

I know what you mean as to the boards under the rails, she may be tall underneath but so is my belly when I lay down anymore!! Getting old sucks!! but I can still do this kind of work. As you can see my 'creeper' of rubber mat sits just at the counterweight.
Hopefully the old girl doesn't kick me too much while I am down and under.

Well dived right in this morning, cup of coffee and 1/2" impact then to work. Managed to get most extraneous items, cab guard, the underside panels and gap closure plates then the front fender crossmember under the seat after the seat and linkages, drained transmission. Piece of cake until I got to looking a bit closer, the fender to final attachment bolts were all loose(6), got to digging around and located 6 replacements(Gr 8) with new lock washers as the first one out was rubbed 1/2 in two, the remaining bolts were no better and the fender attachment holes are wallowed some.
Fixed that up and went back into dropping pedals and steering controls, then hoses and fittings. Got down to the hydraulic pump on the converter, same issue as donor 7/16" conventional bolts don't belong here, the hex flats get too close to the housing and no way to remove with a socket or box end wrench. Tight as hell to boot, will have to save that for Monday, will also consider replacing with Allen heads or space savers.
Did try the trans shift ports after the shift valve removed with air, air blows out the opposite port on anything forward, low reverse blows into the trans case and never moved the clutch pack. Donor trans tight in this respect, pistons shift and connect up well on air only. Do have a few more hoses to get made up.

Was beat when got home so had to await this morning. Trans is on the ground, still have to clean up the finals case face and remove the mound of 'stuff' under the converter to snatch it out, the X braces pins are loose and can be removed so they will be wired out of the way for that. All the hoses are hard as rock, also found a few cylinder hoses that need replacing while in this deep.

Hydraulic pump felt 'funny' going on, did not seem to catch much spline but it had been working prior, so now to take that back off and pull the coupling shaft to see what let go.
Looked to the donor unit for pointers, shaft is goober welded to the drive gear, no help there but will see if I can scrounge the coupling collar off that shaft. Did for curiousity check Minnpar, $1900+ for the shaft(not stocked) and $1300+ for the coupler (also not stocked), are they serious?

Well, even yet more unhappy. Got the shaft out of mine, was in wrong but still connected by close to 1/4". Snap ring on shaft goes to torque drive gear, the last person to have it out put it at the driven collar. Decided to try to pull the pump completely out and grease load it to get it to suck prime, got to looking and the upper ear is cracked, don't think I did it but maybe, decided to try the unit off the donor, cracked at same point but that one the ear fell completely off as I pushed ever so slightly. At least it is a Eaton, 26000 series, will try to find a replacement end housing to fix the one of Edwin's old donor, looks to be a newer pump than mine. Will still grease pack the next one on.

wow that's no fun.. hopefully it will turn around soon..Good news must be on it's way..
I spent about 5 hours on the HD11 today. I have a small coolant leak, a small engine clutch leak and my manual trans pressure was hit and miss all day.. but finally made some progress clearing the woods. Another 20 or so acres and I can stop worrying about busting something..
