I have an early 170 with a lot of wear in the steering. Does anybody have a good tight steering unit for this. I know the D17 IV has most of the same parts in it and maybe others. I thought I would see what I could come up with before tearing mine down.JP

D17 has a mechanical steering linkage with a power assist.  170 Steering is fully hydraulic with no mechanical linkage from the steering wheel.  Very few parts will interchange.  Best to tear your apart first and inspect the sloppy items.  Your local AGCO dealer should be able to get the parts you need.

I looked them both up on AGCO parts today and they have all the same #'s inside except you don't use the worm gear on the 170.JP
