Those parts differ with the bottom number which can be many differant ones on that frame. No matter which bottom you have there is no "go to" place to get the parts. Swap meets, shows, parts dealers on here, auctions with A-C stuff or adapt parts that are still in production. That's the cloices.

The only plow shears that a lot of places have that is AC is for 387s. That is the trouble about owning a AC plow. It is a shame too .

Plow bottoms and frames were sold separately. Different bottoms for different soils. Plow frame is almost no help in identifying the bottoms. A 60 could use bottoms numbered 25 to at least 387 and probably even 392 and everything inbetween.
You need to find a part number on the bottom parts which can be then traced to the plow bottom in the plow bottoms book available at http://www.grandpastractor.com/phpBB3/index.php and then you can find all the optional plow shares that will fit. Usually there were at least 6 different shares for each bottom and bottom width, of different metals and shaped for different purposes. Some better at wear, some better at standing hitting rocks, and some better at pulling the plow into the ground. There is a very outside chance that an Agco dealer will have parts by the part number, but they will be priced like silver, if not gold. It may be much quicker to visit a farm store with a few shares and pick one about the right shape, then adjust its shape with a grinder and drill new holes in the frog so it will stay in place. AC plow bolts are another thing getting very rare and after market shares will probably use more readily available plow bolts. Gerald J. |
