We have an Agco Allis 8745 with 540 PTO it can take 1000 PTO.
Is it a good/ok idea to put 1000rpm on it to run a New Holland 782 chopper? Thanks, Luke

sure if you have a 1000 rpm chopper. There are 2 ways to transmit more hp through a given shaft - make it bigger or turn it faster....thus the reason for 1000 rpm pto. Actually the 540 is only asae cetified /designed to go to about 85 hp in field use....
