The width can be an issue with duals depending on how you use it. If it has to go through a barn door it gets tight and if you bale hay the tire can run over the win row if width isn't a problem it is a great way to add traction.

Dad had a set of Duals for WD-45--even with a narrow front, worked well in spring for working ground--other than that they were off.   R. Musgrave

A couple pictures; one with duals on, other with duals off. To connect the duals you take out 6 of the 8 of the bolts leaving the other 2 to hold the inside tire on. The dual rim has two cutouts that allow the rim to slide over the 2 bolts that hold the inside tire on. You then reinstall the 6 bolts, this will now hold the outside tire on as well as the inside tire. Pretty neat setup. Can take more pictures if you have questions.

Aren't you asking for trouble down the road with nothing but the taper of the bolts to locate the outer rim? There is no pilot. Mine uses the band spacer and clamps.

Takes a lot more brakeing to turn em

Thanks for adding the "braking" comment, makes a lot of sense.

but isn't the taper of the bolts all that usually locates the inner rim as well? I would be more worried about only 2 bolts locating the inner rim with duals on.  I think the t-rail duals with band are quicker to put on and off, but I've seen several people use both methods and they seemed to work ok.

Well the bolts method sounds an just about the same as the old bud rims on trucks and those worked good for duals for a long time. I have an old WWII military chevy 1 1/2 ton truck with duals like that on the rear. I just need to cut the centers out of the old split rims and convert it to modern rims. But I haven't had any trouble with the bud rims.

We had the snapons on our wd-45 and Series IV D17 back in the mid 60's. they made pulling a disk in plowed ground much easier. We took the furrow side off to plow. We had 4-14 on both tractors and the land dualed wheel really held traction well. Dad always carried an extra wheel weight on the land wheel to help on traction before the duals. Once we had them we would never do without them.
