My dad is running soybeans but says he's getting too many hulls and broken pieces of stems in the grain tank! He is running rotor at 440rpm concave set at 5/8" fan running wide open has long finger chaffer totally closed and sieve opened just about right not cracking any beans! 65 bu/acre 13.1 moisture not blowing any beans over! I think he needs to open concave up some more and crank RPM up to about 540-550 just not very used to rotary! Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated has no rotor or cylinder upgrades!

Start off with the short finger STANDARD chaffer......you can't expect a clean sample on an N-5 with a corn chaffer.

are you storing the grain? if not you would be surprised what you can get by with on hulls in the tank as far as dockage. I thought I had too much but elevator didn't care so neither did I. also 13.1 is kinda wet
