Was power steering fairly rare on the 17s built in 1957 or did most guys buy them with it?  thanks nathan

I don't have any production data to back it up but I've seen a lot more D17s with PS than without.

Dads 57 D17 had power steering and wide front until we made it into a puller.

When we sold them till 1962 we never put power steering on them.

I've only seen ONE without power steering in 30 years of chasing them, so I'd say 98% had power steering.....it was still an option even on the series IV model.

The 1957 D17 that I have came from the factory without power steering and a Char-Lynn unit was added sometime later on,which is still on the tractor today. So I guess that would be one of the 2% that didn't have power steering.  Rick

i have a 57 D14 NF it dose not have PS. But it sure needs it.

I don't remember the tractor but I do remember dad telling about a 58 D17 that he bought new without power steering. He used it for a day or two and called the dealer to have power steering put on.
