Has anyone ever started an A-C chain saw? I have a model 95. I've just been pulling the choke all the way out, turning the switch on and pulling the cord. I haven't had any luck yet though getting the old girl to fire up. Any "hints or tips" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Did you check to see if it has spark at the plug? May not be getting gas either. You may have checked this already but you did not mention it.

Is the 95 the same as a Poulan 306? If you have spark remove the air filter and pour a little gas into the carb throat and see if it fires. There is a fuel line that goes into the tank that ethanol loves to deteriorate. Not too bad too replace, just watch how it is routed. The diaphragm in the carb could be bad also. Could just be bad fuel in the tank. On Dad's old Poulan I turn the switch "on", engage the high idle on the throttle and pull out the choke; after it fires one time push in the choke and it usually starts on the next pull. But a 30+ year old saw can be temperamental at times.

I really appreciate your suggestions. I turned the switch on, depressed the trigger all the way in and pulled the choke all the way out. It turns over fine, it just doesn't fire. I checked the plug and it seems ok, however it was wet. So, I'm going to dry the plug out and reinstall tomorrow and try again. I'm sure there is some 'small trick' to this. The person I purchased it from said the "last time he used it, it worked fine". That might be part of the problem. Thanks again for all your help, I'll really appreciate you taking the time to provide help to me!
