Was power steering an option for D-12 III when they were new? If "Yes"; does anyone have one for sale?

I know of 2 other D-12's in this area with P/S .

The one was bought new and the dealer installed the P/S kit on the D-12 before guy took it off the lot.

The dealer's would order the kit and sell or install on tractor.

The I tractors like the I40 and I400 are based off the d-10 and 12s but the PS is a totally different animal, the pump and the res tank are the same but the rest is totally different, but they did make regular Ind d-10 and 12s , I have seen the order form as well as other lit related to the ps for the 10-12s and nowhere does it say only for the industrials but early on it could have been true as even the 17s and such were non-ps and had to be ordered, and yes ps didnt come from the factory on a 10 or 12 but was ordered by the dealer as a kit and put on (as Fred said), like a wd-45 if you have one with orig paint and the tank mounting hole is drilled through the decal then more than likely it was the add-on kit while if the decal isnt centered on the hood and doesnt have a hole in it then it could have been built with ps originaly
