sneaky little weasel sneaking around on the property looking over my donar tractors and scrap metal "storage". I explained that we don't have police in this twp....blank stare.....I said that means it's up to me and my neighbors to look after ourselves and in the end he just may wish we had police. I escorted him off the property, took is plate number and called state police. state police came right out, took report and said they would pay him a visit. When I told him what I said to the weasel he says, just don't shoot him in the back!

"Just don't shoot him in the back"
   I like that.
Wonder what he would have said about 5 gallons and a match?
Glad you caught the verman before he got anything, but now better set up a security weasel trap just incase he comes back for retaliation of a visit... At least some infared game cameras...
Good Luck there Lou, hope nothing more takes place.

believe it or not, according to a Pittsburgh TV news report, police arrested two clowns with a bucket truck stealing in service power lines not too far from me! according to the report a resident went out and asked what they were doing and they gave him a big story about how the power company was upgrading the lines and he would benefit by getting more power.....he went the house and called the cops!

Our Sheriffs around here don't seem to care. We had some thieves take some of our scrap and tractor parts. Local person got their plate #, description of them and vechile. found some our items on their property and some that were sold at scrap yard. And they didn't spend 1 day in jail! Last deputy really pissed me off when he said "Well your building is open and some stuff is setting out" Man I wanted to shoot him on the spot! And I replied what does that have to do with anything. If you have something sitting out at your place we're welcome to take it? He didn't like that and I told him to leave. I guarantee if we catch them, they will be leaving in a body bag. And I'll probably be in jail! Damn thieves have more rights then us it seems.

I am in Provincal Court from time to time with my work. A younger Bench Judge put 2 guys in jail for 2 years less a day for stealing railroad rail clamps and spikes from a siding. The steel buyer got their info and called the cops. Locally Ive also seen some guys burning the plastic off a giant coil of wire, set the neighborhood on fire, fire trucks everwhere. Judge made them pay for the firetrucks and the cleanup and put them in jail for a year...good for them.

get yourself a bullet light off the back off a Allis fender the pretty one with the red lens   then hang it from a tree on your property with a it just at eye level but make sure you hang it before you dig the hole and cover it with 1/8 inch partical board dig it deep to but not more than 15 feet don't want to kill em just catch them. then when you get home and here  help me help me cover the hole back up let them sit in the dark for a couple more hours and then go call the police and tell them you caught a critter snooping again and was wondering if you could get rid off it but make sure you get that on tape. what they tell you to do that is.Wink  dont forget to take the light down before you call the cops that way they cant say you were baiting the criminal's

grandpa had Shep at his tractor junk yard and grandpa trained him so he was the only one to call him off if he said sick him in you can bet that if a 150 pound Shepard shows teeth and is running at you there is no arguing there is lots of running i never seen him but i heard lots off story's. I sure miss grandpa. he owned busserts tractor parts in southern MN had a pretty big yard too but its all gone now 750 tractors later and a 2 day 3 ring sale

If your donor tractors are  still sitting on tires you could always run an electric fencer to them.

My old boss from years ago had some hand tools taken off a job, he knew the kid that did it and told him we construction guys take care of our own and they never found the last thief. They tools came back the next day!

Local steel worker has had his welding cables stolen twice.  The first time he called the scrap yards, got the name of the kid who sold them and called the police and they did nothing.   He second pair was stolen in the last couple weeks and am I'm not sure what's going to happen to that kid this time.

Theives don't go over well here.....local general store owner got robbed one day by a local kid he recognized....he was so mad he chased the kid down with his pickup, ran the kids car off the road. Then he proceeded to beat the kid with his bare hands till the kid pooped himself, then threw him in the bed of his truck and left him under the bed cover till the cops got there.
