Has anyone used fillers for one these engine parts? I have researched it a bit but the data really is inconclusive. I'm leaning towards Lab metal but I'm unsure at this point. I have seen reports that Bondo is fine at the temps these items will see. The oil pan is dented and needs to be shaped some so will need minor work. The head is pitted and just needs a skim coat to prepare it for paint.
Anyone try these methods? What where the results/timeframes/how much running time does the tractor get. Edited by Redwood - 03 Jul 2012 at 1:11pm |

I have used Bondo on minor dents and pits with good results. Fast setup and easy to sand out with an air file.

This is what I was wondering, if bond works why go to the expense of the Lab metal. Although these two pieces can be pulled easily if it does not work....I'd rather not do it twice. Has any one tried bondo in a high temp area with poor results?
