put a spare wd45 power unit engine in. I have an spare WD 45 Power Unit.
I have enough AC tractors, am thinking about putting the spare power unit in a Tracto Motive Loader or perhaps looking for an Allis Grader that needs a good motor. Do you guys have any other good ideas on how to use the spare WD45 Power Unit. Appreciate your input. Thank Guys...Orangeman

Hey Cal and Gary: I guess I could put an adapter together for the CA housing and bolt up and pull like a scalded dog. I really like the AC Construction Machinery always thought it was well made American Iron. I am leaning toward put the 45 power unit engine in a good piece of construction machinery. Open to all options and thoughts at this point.

I wasn't serious about the ca swap. I'll turn off the sarcasm... save it for you know who, If its a power unit in an enclosure I would restore it, GBACFAN has some really nice restored BE power units, a grader or loader would also be a great candidate

One WD45 to CA adaptor. And yes, if I had a 45 engine, I'd do it again!!

Ok Guys: the power unit is on a steel C Channel skid, it is complete with the clutch, radiator and all the sheet metal. No side plates :(.
Larry - Nice looking adapters right there! Would love to see the 45 engine in a CA. The 45 engine was some fine American Muscle built by the one and only Harvey engine plant. Geepers I wish AC was still around. Guess I am just a sentimental coot livin back in the Glory Industrial days of the American build up. Anyone else wish AC was still with us???

Put an axle under the skid, a hitch on the front, paint it all up and have a nice show piece, if your into that sort of thing.

I've got the under carriage and differential of an OC46 Oliver here just screaming for an Allis engine and sheet metal
![]() ![]() ![]() If I had a WD45 engine in it, it would be mean on a bush hog out in the back brush. Edited by CTuckerNWIL - 18 Jul 2012 at 8:37pm |

I would probably make a gen set out of it. Been wanting one for a long time and would put my mind at ease having backup elect.

I'm with KGood. Put the gen set on it and on a cart so it can be moved easy.
