anybody know the best way to degree a cam gear? LOL sorry, I can't help meself
seriously, the sealing surface where the sleeve O rings will live has some serious pitting, looks like the lower ring will be OK, but, measuring down from sleeve seat it looks like the top rings are going to be either just below or right on some pits
anybody see this before and how did you fix it? sealer? epoxy? liquid metal? Edited by LouSWPA - 06 Aug 2012 at 8:36pm |

I'll stay away from the first question cause "I have trouble finding TDC"
![]() If an epoxy is the answer, I would think a little work with a brazing tip might cook any residual oil out of the iron so it would stick good. |

For the cost of doing this machine work why not get another block? Your old block has good value as some tractor puller will bore it larger anyway. I've got good blocks on the shelf and would trade you but shipping would make it no value.
To do it right it really needs to be bored and sleved. But I have used a product called RocBlok from Competition Products in Oshkosh Wi. It's a fiber based block filler and works great as a sealer vs the grout based fillers. Assembling the liners as normal and an inch or two of this would seal as long as you have the block clean. |
