Well, my experiment/trial purchase of Walker muffler turned out bad, because of good people at my supply house no real losses were had. The Walker arrived and it was re-badged Stanley. I couldn't believe my eyes when we opened it up. Seems like suppliers have no problem throwing junk in a box, slapping there sticker on it [ without even pulling the Stanley sticker off], upcharging the part by 150%, and shipping it out. Then to ad insult to injury, NO returns, all sales final. Walker appears to be a company not to trust.

So, all in a nutshell, if someone really wants the real deal, I would pony up the $300 and get the real deal. If I was keeping my 175 I would do it in a heartbeat. HTH.

Chris,

Sorry it didn't work out, but at least you didn't get burned having to buy it.

If Nelson no longer makes them to fit the D17, then I would imagine the AGCO part number that someone gave in the other post on this subject, must be NOS.  I wonder if at some point it simply won't be possible to find a Nelson once they run out.  I'm assuming Nelson no longer makes them, otherwise they would be available from a variety of suppliers.

I'll keep checking, but for now my automotive muffler is getting the job done.  At some point I'll probably break down and pay the $300 for one.
