In the forums, some guys have posted that they replaced the WD45 seat spring with a Monroe 5752 shock. The guy who sold me my 1957 WD45, is replacing the seat shock, but it seems that the shock and spring is all one unit. If it isn't, he doesn't have the equipment to take it apart, to get the shock out, and get it back together. (a press??)
Anyway, I have been looking on the internet, and trying to price the seat shock and coil spring assembly, here and on eBay. What is the best price you have found, price and shipping, for a WD45 seat coil spring and shock assembly, or, whom would you recommend that I try to get a new assembly from on the net? I have priced Tony on his website, waiting for a call back. Any idea who has bushings, or, what other parts do I need to get it done right, and do you have a good source for those parts? Thank you. You all have been very helpful in the past in regards to the WD45 loader and D19 topic. All the best, Dex Edited by Dexter Peabody - 18 Aug 2012 at 3:49pm |

Once you take ther shoct out of the seat bracket you will find that turning the plate 90 deg will alow you to pull the shock out of the spring. when its fully extended ther is very little force on it. I compressed it slightly with one hand turned the plate and it comes apart.

Thank you, Dakota Dave! I will pass that along to the guy who has my WD45 and see if he can do that.
