I have been severly gimped up from a spinal injury & using the WD is quit difficult and it's really to large for me to use safely. So I need to buy another tractor (as if I needed an excuse, I want to pass the WD down to the next generation, so will most likely keeping it), I am looking to get something smaller, preferably with power steering and a loader is a must, I am way to old, fat, and gimpy to use a wheel barrow and shovel, lol. I like the D series, but they don't appear much smaller than what i have, Yes there is alot of compact tractors out there and they are nice, but pricey and I don't know if they are really for me, I like farm tractors, most of the compact tractors around me won't even pull and 1 botttom plow and would fit in the bucket of my WD. so I ask my allis friends what is a person do get. my budget will be under $5,000 of course I also want to stay in the Allis Family.

A D-15 Ser.II with a Model 415 loader ( has hydraulic bucket ) would be nice. Ad an extra step to the loader frame to make getting on and off the tractor easier. Gary

I doubt it would be in your price range, but my New Holland TC29 has the step-through operator area. I had a friend who really like using it because of his knee problems. I can plow with it fairly well, but I haven't tried a bottom plow, just disk, midle buster and scarfire. With one that small the loader and 4wd is very necesary for weight. Not wanting to sell mine, just telling you what I like about it.

not posative but I think I seen a d-12 series III, for sale, but I will have to check, there was a d-12 (?) for sale for $2,500 but had no loader, the series III (what ever the model) was $5,800 with no loader. I don't think my loader will work on any of the D series.

Very few of the D10/12 came with power steering that I have run across. However my D12 steers very easy, but I don't have a loader on it.
How about a 5020/30/40/50 series? They came setup to use loaders.

the same place had a 5020 and a 5040, but no ps or loader. the loader is some thing of a must, but i seem to be able to find loaders that will fit the tractor's i have. I looked at a kobuta with a loader and with out ps, it wasn't really hard to steer. (not like the 8n I had) the series III, had ps, but it was $6,800. it didn't appear to be a show piece, so I thought it was way to over priced. I really appriciate all the info. rather than try and remember all the tractors, http://www.wengers.com/ this is were I was looking. I'm not in a huge hurry to buy a tractor, let me know what ya think.

6800 for a SerIII is way too much unless a lot of quality work has went into it. Most SerIII's around here bring 2500-3000 un restored. Have seen SerIV's bring this kind of money if they are in very good shape

A D14 would typically be the least expensive of the D series tractors. It would be a little smaller than your WD and the same loaders would fit it. I don't recall that they were available with power steering, but if not I'm sure there have been retrofits over the years. The D10 and D12 tractors are almost always more expensive because they were made in smaller numbers. I'm sure the 5xxx series tractors will have more comforts, but at a cost no doubt.

thanks, still on the hunt, I'm sure I will come across something. Maybe this is some thing for a new thread, but what about the G's? I know now ps and proble no loader. but I was wondering if I could use it for the small stuff and keep the wd for loader work, untill I find something else. I have found G's rather cheap around here. I was wonder is what type of equip, I could use for the G model.
