So if i had an impaired B engine   and a couple  donor B engines with different  bore and stroke,  what would happen if i put one or two  of the smaller sleeves and pistons into a block with 2 or 3 of the larger sleeves and piston sets ?
Play on 38 B 49 WF , working on D14, D15 B10, Bee 12 B110. use 185 and 190

Unless you have regound a crank, the stroke is the same on ALL B engines. The worst thing you could do would be to put one cast piston, or 2 on the same side throw to unbalance things.  Whatever you do mixing parts with different diameter pistons, and different compression ratios, is likely to cause vibration problems.

Or break the crank from the unbalance.

Actually it would benefit from matching the piston and rod weights. Why they are often bought in sets.

I have a lot of different used B & C engine parts available. I think I have 2 good usable matched sets of the smaller (3-14") pistons with sleeves, maybe a few od ones as well. Then I also have a selection of the 3-3/8" pistons as well. What is the number on the best ones you'd like to match up?

The strokes on your B's will be the same. If you place the same size on one and two and use a different size as long as they are the same size on three and four you should be able to hold the engine together. To keep it somewhat in balance you will want the same weight going down at the same time the exact same weight is going up. If you have one weight going up as another weight is going down you would get some shake at higher RPM's. If I had the parts and was short on cash I would do it in a heat beat. The difference between you and I would be I would never told anyone.

I've heard of guys doing things seemingly much worse, and not having any major issues... just keep it all in mind when you're running it...
