A couple of weeks ago I bought a series 2 D 17 Diesel. I am now ready to try and start it. The decals are missing and the owners and service manuals do not say which way the kill switch should be. My 5050 runs forward and kills to the rear, is the D17 D the same? Also the tractor has a alternator on it and what I think is the power steering pump disconnected hanging loose. (see photo) Can I assume that factory was a generator with the pump driven from the generator end?

On the Di7 with the lever back it is on and ahead the fuel is shut off. Yes the power steering pump is drove off the back of the generator, looks like you have the pump ,goo thing they are very costly if you can find them. Hope the blue goo holds the water in!
