you could go into any sporting goods store and in the fishing tackle section find what was  called a RUBBER BAND TROTLINE.
It was a large size flat strip of rubber band rubber at about 25 feet. How it worked was, stretched across a body of water  where you wished to set a trotline it would pull the line with hooks in place. Worked real good fishing near a bridge. I saw some fisherman catch a ice chest full of Slab crappie from the bank . I had one and used it like they did until the rubber rotted and I couldn't  buy another rubber band.
Walk across the bridge and tie one end to something solid or heavy. Walk back stretching the rubber tight across the water. Tie on the line with baited hooks and let the rubber band pull the trotline in place.
All that's missing  is finding a continuous long flat or round rubber band. HELP

Ken:Why go to all that work to catch cat food???Confused I haven't eaten any kind of fish since becoming a grownup and being able to chose for myself what I eatThumbs Up
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Is this what your looking for?

I love fishing and eating them. I also bow fish suckers and carp.

Edit  I see they are a distributer and don't sell retail unless you have a resale # and want to test sample one, they may set you up. Maybe they can tell you of a retailer they sell to that you can get it from.
If you have the #, I'd first try the Test Sample route first, than if that fails, the who is a retailer route.

Hey Chask,,,,this brought back some child hood memories,,,,,,,Way back in the day of dirt streets in town,,,we lived down next to this creek that flowed thru town and all the streets just wound around the bigger trees,,and there was no street cawnors,,just lots of trees and underbrush. This area ( The Jungle) was where the colored people lived, of which I was the friends with most of them. There was this one dude, Arthur,  that was a close friend of mine and he used to LOVE flour tortillas!! His parents used to go fish 3-4 nights per week night,,,for catfish and ,,,,Carp,,,,! BIG Carp,,!! His Momma would take the bigger bones out and grind the rest of the fish PLUS some homemade saltine crackers and make some fish patties,,then fry them and UMMMM,m,was they good!! He would come over 2-3 times a week with a handful of carp fish patties and I would trade him 1 tortilla for ,,,,,,,,,2 fish patties,,,Ya see,,,I was a pretty good entrepeneuer even then,,,,!!!WinkWink Ole Arthur grew up to be a MEAN sob and I was lucky, that he like'ed me,,,,,,,,,
Most people I knew would NOT bring home any of the carp they caught but would instead pitch em up on the bank to use for cut bait for catfish,Clap

Chas.. My dad got me into bowfishing carp when I was about 8. Grew up on carp, snapping turtles and bullfrogs. All taken with a bow. We used to go to this places he called the 'swamp'. Wildlife reserve, series of lakes all flooded areas covered in trees and did a lot of wading. No body around for miles. Might see 2 people in a weekend.

Rule #1, don't get off the road without your waders on because of snakes. Got hit a few times. Ever tried to take a crap with hip waders on? Had a go round with a Muskrat of 2 over fish and who it belonged too. Thump on the head with the end of an arrow would get rid of them.

We did that for years almost every weekend. Got the total chit scared out of me plenty of times.

I don't eat the carp unless I get them out of a known clean lake or stream, otherwise they make the garden grow. Thumbs Up  Suckers will not tolerate polluted waters so they is a good sign in any waters your fishing. The ones I keep of carp or suckers for eating I usually smoke. Smile Smoked white fish and carp in the stores around here is usually around $10 a pound. Thumbs Down Got me a 7lb Dogfish a couple three springs ago, nasty fish just like a Snakehead or maybe it was, I didn't know about them at the time. Yep it was garden fodder. Eepout is another fugly fish up here, but their back and tail meat is mighty good, called poor mans lobster. We even have an eelpout festival every winter ice fishing for them.

Go to Tower Hobbies site and take a look at a sailplane launching system or an arborist supplier and look at ways to get a rope high in a tree from the ground.

My FIRST experience with Eelpout.... I was in my 20s and fishing with a buddy and hooked into one.  I had never seen one, so I had no idea of what was gonna happen.  I grabbed him  by the head to get my hook out all the while wondering WTH is THIS!!??  Well that thing wrapped itself around my arm SO fast I think I chit my pants.  All the while my buddy Jerry was laughing his azz off.... Finally got it thrown into the river again and I don't EVER want to do that again!!
NOW you tell me they are good eatin Chas??!!  DANG!  I've eaten just about everything out of the ole Mississippi but gar.  I won't eat anything that has that many teeth!

DJ, we had them a lot on Fridays growin up, but my Mom used Salmon out of a can instead.  Good ole Salmon patties.  Haven't thought about them in years.......

Ken, I knew what a trot line was, but I never used one.  We always had out set-lines.  Kind of the same thing, but it didn't stretch.  Caught LOTS of fish on those.  Especially bullheads in the spring!!  About 6-7" long, the BEST eatin!!  But a royal pain cleaning them!  I can still feel those barbs.
I hope you can find some and have a great day fishing, like the old days.
