I had to take the wife up to the alien town to day and was amazed at what I seen on the way up there,,,,,
Bout 15 years ago, the Highway Dept did a total reconstruction of US 285 which is the main N-S highway on the east side of New Mexico. They widened the whole thing to make it two lanes  going each way with a 30 foot space separating the 4 lanes. They did this from the southern  border of NM all the way to the Colorado border. Sure made for traveling those long azzed miles from north to south,,!! OK,,,OK,,I'm gettin to my story here in a little bit,,,,,WinkWink
Anyway they dug many, many "barrow pits" alongside the new highway construction for material for the highway and they left those barrow pits there as they were dug on state property. Most of those pits are bout 150 to 200 Yards long and bout 150 yards wide and maybe 30 to 50 feet deep. Between here and Roswell there are bout 10 of those pits and,,,,,,,,and,,,,,they was all still FULL of rain water 6 days since it started in raining around here,,,,that right there is one heck of a lot of rain,,at least around here it is,,,,,ClapClap  Also,,I had left the oil pan off the worthless 305 sittin on the tailgate on the Black Silverado,,,and thet sob was plumb full of water too,,,,

I cut hay yesterday. Custom job last cutting this year. Field was dry but every low spot in fields on the way there were full of water! Some farmers on light ground have started cutting soybeans. We are supposed to get rain Friday and Saturday. Just what is not needed for chopping corn.
