Can some one tell me how high one would be with 20.8 38 and what the overall width is from the ends of the axles? Trying to establish a cost to truck one.

I can get you measurements tomorrow. I measured an 8550 a while back I think it was close to 12' tall and 12' wide. That was with the duals on.

Is it a long axle or short axle? Long axle tractor will be 10ft with duals off, short axle should be under 8' 6" if memory is correct.

OK...so I have come to use the spell check so much I forget to stop and read what I wrote...yes darrel, 4W 305. Don't know if it is a short or long axle, was unaware there was such an option.

Has to go on a double drop because of height. Width wise-better to be a short axle-then no special wide load permits in most jurisdictions. Not cheap to bring home-from the mid west likely at least $4000 (unless the trucker is your BIL). Know this from experience.

Darrel, fun it was, I am known here for a hole bunch of gaffs, of course I get them handed back to me as well...lol
Tractor data only show the wheel base and weight, not what I need to determine trucking. Trucker is not my BIL, but I do have my own truck, just the last couple I bought in the west that came here I got them here for about half what my fuel would have cost to get them myself, not counting state permits into the expense either.

Amos, will those big weights be going on the 4W-305? Dad hauled one of his 8550's from Minnesota to Kansas on a double drop with the duals on.

CAL, those weights actually are going on my 200 and my 8030, as I am going to take the fluid out of the bias plies on the 8030 and put radials on but I am sure by the way she get spinning now pulling my drill that I will need it to weigh the same when I do the tire change and I don't want fluid in the radials. I put radials on the 200 a few years ago and my dad is always complaining it has too much power. I did not pump the fluid back into the tires at the time and used it up in our loader tractor after a couple of flats on it.
Not sure on whether the 4W 305 is the tractor to solve my needs but going to look at a couple next week. sent you a pm.

The 305 I measured today had 20/38's was 11'3 tall , 10'6 wide outside to outside of inner tire and 13' wide to outer tire.
