I need an oil pump screen for a -45 gas. I don't see it in any of the vendor sites....anybody?
I also assume that it was held on with a spring clip, not the twisted wire that was holding the remains of the one I have.....so I need that too

I would almost bet the wire is what held it on from day one. My WC had safety wire holding the screen on. I even have one of those twister pliers with a roll of safety wire in my toolbox. Just used it again today putting my WC shifter back together.
Anyway, you can probably buy a chink of that screen somewhere like McMaster Carr   . It's available on ebay but I don't know what mesh is what.

Charlie, you are right, after I posted this I looked in the parts book and it shows wire.
I bought some screen, not as heavy as the original, but heavier than screen door screen and wasted the better part of a day trying to make one. The problem is the edges, I just never could get to where I felt comfortable the edges wouldn't shed bits of wire.

Norm, I'll be in touch on Monday
