Norm Swinford said in his book a diesel 10 or 12 would have been a strong attraction to farmers and dealers. has anyone ever made one thought about it / what would work for and engine ? Tractorman

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the Tractors from over the pond, like the ED-40 were diesel, and pretty much everything else was the same as the D10-12-or 15. Again this is from memory, not around my Swiford Bible right now. Those tractors were imported to the US, and I see them every once in a while for sale.

The D-272 would actually be closer to a D-10 / 12 than an ED-40.
D272 had CA 4 speed transmission and the R/H axle clutch. Also had Snap Coupler AND 3 pt hitch together on the same tractor. Available overseas with either 3 cylinder Diesel OR 125 cuin Gas. Only Diesels shipped to North America. When my father was a Dealer , on more than one occassion he wished they had kept them all over there. Gary
