I want to replace the front seal on my B, do I need to take the radiator and the support off or is there an easier way. Also what do I need to take off to get the oil pan off. It looks like I need to take the front axle off.

Some B's you can rotate the pan and it will slip out corner ways. Others you will need to move the front axle ahead about a half inch.
It would be easier to change the seal if you jack and block under the torque tube and remove all of the front along with the axle. That solves the pan problem. ![]() |

Like Dick said, you need to remove the front axle, the radiator and support and the crank pulley. You can pull the seal by drilling 2 holes in it and inserting sheet metal screws into the hole and pull on them to get it out. At that point, the only problem in removing the oil pan are the three bolts at the rear. They are a little tight to get at.

Don't spend a lot of time looking for that third bolt in the rear of the pan. It sure can seem like four trying to get them out though. Three in front but only two at the rear that take small hands and fingers. (:^D
