Have any of you had any luck with radiator stop-leak products stopping a leak in the water pump of a WD?  My hunch is that I might as well "bite the bullet" and put a new or rebuilt one on the tractor and be done with it.  Thanks.

Agree with Steve. Do it right the first time instead of having to do it again later.

I've seen some brands of stop leak fix many leaks, but none will fix a leaky water pump seal. That leak is telling you that you need to fix the pump before you ruin the housing.

Don't even mess with the old pump. Purchase a new one, install it and don't look back. Everytime I talk to a customer on the phone  that rebuilt his water pump, he winds up replacing it a few months down the road cause' the thing is leaking once again. The only thing good about the job the second time around is the bolts come out easier. We carry new pumps, Tony C. carries new pumps as well as Jimmy D. Where ever or whom ever you purchase it from, you're way ahead of the game putting in new....Done deal!

I've used the stop leak before but only as a very temp fix.  Usually just to get me to the weekend when I would have time to replace the pump or find the leak.
