I changed the seals in the front steering pedestal on my WD Allis. I am looking for the number weight of gear lube that is in there and where can I get some? I have been told that it may be number 250 weight but have not found it anywhere.

I run John Deere corn head grease in mine. It's a flow-able grease that tends not to leak as bad.

I use straight 140 wt in my tractors (both steering gear boxes). Available from NAPA

That will depend on how worn things are. Whith new seals I would doubt it, but if the surfaces the seals seat on are not true you could still have some leakage.
