I am new tractor owner/operator. I recently purchased a B series that worked well until I had to replace the battery. It was a 12v so I bought another 12v to replace it. Somewhere in the back of mind I remember the former owner saying something about the ground being positive. Does that sound right?
1. will this battery be ok? 2. will I connect the black cable to the + terminal on the battery? I am just learning all about owning/using this tractor and want to keep it running well. thanks!

standard setup for that tractor was ground positive with a 6 volt battery. If the cable from starter post used to be to the battery negative before then it is still running that way.
If the battery does not seem to charge the generator may not be setup for 12 volt correctly.
